Ophidian Forest's third album, "Susurrus," completed

Another milestone for Ophidian Forest has come to pass with the completion of the group's third album, "Susurrus." The album contains seven tracks at 66:06 minutes. The album's title, which describes the rustling of wind through trees, focuses on the experience of a band playing music amongst cherished Nature, with forest sounds taking on an almost instrumental role. The pressing of this album and availability to the public is yet to be determined. Ophidian Forest is currently looking into the preliminary steps in pressing its second album, "Plains." In the meantime, three songs each from "Susurrus" and "Plains" can be heard on the band's myspace player. Also on the horizon for Ophidian Forest is a split (with a band to be revealed as the project reaches completion) featuring tracks recorded during the "Susurrus" sessions that do not appear on the "Susurrus" album. In addition, yet another EP is mostly recorded and should be completed this year. Thank you for your support, Otrebor/Amalgamoth/Zaragil

AT LAST!

After a seemingly endless wait we finally have available again our very first album "Redbad".
Previously only available as a "rare-as-rocking-horse-droppings" DIY black promo CDR.
Now it's released officially on Ziekte-NL in a DVD box with greatly enhanced artwork and a nice booklet.
Not a CDR release, but factory pressed CDs with a solid full colour print.
Previously appreciated by a select group of people as an authentic and innovative sounding piece of aggressive pagan black metal, Ophidian Forest is proud to have unleashed "Redbad" to a larger audience.

Redbad is available from our drummer in San Francisco for $10 (free shipping to USA, just a bit more for Canada or Mexico) and the contact/PayPal address is giorgio75@hotmail.com

Dear Ophidian Forest supporters,
The second Ophidian Forest album entitled
PLAINS has been completed.
The album is exactly 46 minutes long and contains
10 tracks, three of which have been posted on
MySpace. And all just in time for the Winter Solstice.
It's our black metal gift to you.
As always, we recommend you download the tracks to avoid the sonic shortcomings of the myspace player.
As always, we are looking for a deal.
If one is not found within a few weeks, we will be making DIY copies of "Plains," as well as a re-vamped re-issue of the debut album, "Redbad."
Ophidian Forest never rests.
We already have most of the recordings done for a
yet-to-be-named EP, as well as a third full-length partially complete.
We intend for 2009 to be another big year for us.
Heathenly yours: Amalgamoth, Otrebor, Zaragil.

November 27th 2008: Release cancelled!

Due to very unfortunate circumstances our album can not be released on Eichenwald Industries.
However, this is a chance for owners of small but viable independant labels to sign the rights for two great black metal albums, "Redbad" and "Plains".

Ophidian Forest debut to be released in early 2009

Ophidian Forest's first recording, "Redbad," will be released by label Eichenwald Industries in early 2009.
Ophidian Forest is thrilled to be working with Eichenwald,
whose owner, Duncan Dinsdale, used to run Rage of Achilles records and the Earache subsidiary, Codebreaker.
Both labels have put out albums that we cherished as fans far before signing this deal.

"Redbad" was released in a limited, DIY quantity of 50 and sold
at local shops in San Francisco and on tour in various cities in Japan.
It has sold out, but Eichenwald Industries will be pressing at least 1,000 copies of the album, with new artwork and layout,
to be distributed worldwide.
"Redbad" will contain nine songs plus one bonus track.
Four of the tracks are currently on Myspace.
